THE HUTTON INTERN EXPERIENCE
Interns at Hutton don’t just push a broom. They participate in making decisions, using tools, impacting projects and learning in a hands-on environment. Our interns come from construction and design four-year bachelor degree programs and related associate degree trade programs.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The skills a Hutton intern can earn through these summer programs are invaluable. On jobsites and on in-office design teams, interns are encouraged to take a vested interest in their projects. Over the summer, as a designer, builder or both, you will have the opportunity to:
- Earn tangible, hands-on experience.
- Develop relationships with team members, clients and trade partners.
- Contribute to the success of projects in a legitimate way.
- Work in a design-build environment as an architect, a builder or both.
- Review project schedules, and support superintendents and supervisors on their projects.
Beyond simply designing something and the work that I would do in school, I learned how that fits into a broader context of design and build.
