In August, the WBJ reported that Capitol Federal had purchased the former QuikTrip at 13th and Oliver, but it was unclear at the time what the bank planned to do with the building.
Now CapFed says it plans to break ground Friday on the construction of a new, full-service bank branch that will replace its existing location that’s across the street.
A ground-breaking ceremony is planned for 11:30 a.m. Friday, a news release says.
The current branch location at the northwest corner of the intersection, at 4616 E. 13th St., will remain open for customers during construction.
Hutton is completing the design-build project for CapFed.
