HITTING THE START BUTTON IN DOWNTOWN SALINA

It started with a boom and then a crash of falling cinder blocks as employees of Hutton, a Wichita-based construction company, swung the sludge hammer into the blocks to celebrate the location of what will be Hutton’s newest office at 137 S. 5th St. in downtown Salina.

“We recognize the value of Salina’s geographic location and skilled workforce,” said Salina team leader Jason Gillig. “Clients and employees in north-central Kansas appreciate the proximity of the new office to some of our most exciting projects.”

The architecture, construction and facility services firm currently has four offices in Kansas. Hutton acquired Busboom & Rauh Construction in 2019, which bolstered Hutton’s commercial, industrial, healthcare and cold storage/food manufacturing roster. The new office is one of several Salina-area projects for Hutton, including Homewood Suites by Hilton, the University of Kansas School of Medicine Health Education Center, Salina Regional Health Center and renovations to the Stiefel Theater.
