Alongside The Waldinger Corporation, Torgeson Electric, American Fire Sprinkler and others, Hutton put its building information modeling (BIM) capabilities to work on the new Junction City High School.
With BIM, structures are built virtually with the same elements and materials that will go into the physical building. The model allows architects, engineers and builders alike to discover any problems (or clashes) long before construction begins.
“Getting the model and the entire team on board really opened our eyes to pre-planning and figuring out how we would route our pipes and how we’re going to get to these specific things,” said Jason Mack with Torgeson Electric. “It’s going to pay its full weight in dividends.”
The construction team at Junction City High School have been able to keep the project on schedule in part because of early BIM coordination.
“When the entire team buys into this process, it’s the customer that reaps the benefits,” said Lenny Boury with The Waldinger Corporation.
