JR Custom Metal Products was expanding its facility to include a paint shop. That meant new construction. “The project had a lot of moving parts, and we wanted to make sure that we selected somebody that was well-rounded,” said Jorge Martinez, vice president of sales at JR Custom Metal Products. “Hutton had a great hold on the leadership and planning.”

Hutton designed and built a new powder coat facility that allows JR Custom Metal Products to paint its own products and control quality to better serve its growing customer base.

The project was a half-block down the street from Hutton’s Wichita headquarters, which gave our staff the chance to walk to the jobsite each day.

The project was delivered precisely as planned. “It was a big success,” said Patty Koehler, president and CEO at JR Custom Metal Products. “We never had an overrun, because we knew what our numbers were all along the way. To me, that’s impressive.”

Good communication was key to getting the job done. “We had planning meetings, preliminary meetings and weekly meetings,” said Martinez. “Hutton was very responsive. They paid attention to what we wanted as the customer, but more than anything, they were great people to work with.”
